At ContractScanner.app, we built our platform with privacy as the foundational principle. Because we handle sensitive legal documents (such as employment agreements, leases, and NDAs), we operate under a strict Zero Data Retention policy. We do not use generative Artificial Intelligence; our service is a mechanical tool designed to highlight pre-defined terminology using client-side logic.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

When you use our scanner tool to upload a PDF, image, or paste text, we do not store, save, or host your documents on our servers. We do not maintain a database of user contracts, nor do we have access to the contents of the files you analyze.

3. Local Browser Processing

To ensure maximum security, the extraction and analysis of text from your documents happens entirely locally within your device's web browser:

• No Server Uploads: When you upload a file, the text is extracted in your browser's temporary memory. The original document never leaves your device.
• Mechanical Analysis: The "scanning" process is a mechanical keyword-matching algorithm that runs 100% client-side. We do not utilize cloud-based AI APIs to read or interpret your text.
• Session Destruction: The moment you refresh or close the page, the temporary data used for the scan is discarded and cannot be recovered.

4. US State Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Under various US state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), residents have specific rights regarding their personal information:

• Right to Know: You have the right to request a disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to Delete: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
• Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information to third parties. We do not sell your personal data.

This site-wide analytics and advertising data is strictly separated from the contract scanning tool. No data from your uploaded contracts or pasted text is ever shared with advertisers or third-party tracking services.

Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site and your user experience.

Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google.
