Our Story
ContractScanner was born out of frustration. We watched everyday consumers—our friends, family, and colleagues—get trapped by predatory agreements simply because they couldn't decipher the fine print. We saw freelancers lose thousands to hidden indemnification clauses, renters face illegal eviction threats wrapped in dense legal jargon, and everyday buyers get scammed by "as-is" dealership loopholes.
The legal system is overwhelmingly tilted in favor of massive corporations who pay teams of lawyers to draft impenetrable, one-sided contracts. The average person doesn't stand a chance when handed a 40-page document and told to "sign at the bottom." We decided it was time to build a tool that levels the playing field, entirely for free, without compromising consumer privacy.
