Privacy

Is my contract stored anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser, personal data is redacted on your device, and only the text is sent for analysis over an encrypted connection. We do not store contract text or reports — not in a database, logs or backups. Full details.

Does the AI "learn" from my contract?

No. We use Google's Gemini API on the paid tier, whose terms exclude using customer inputs to train models. Google may keep inputs briefly for abuse monitoring. We never use the free tier.

What gets redacted automatically?

Email addresses, phone numbers, web links, IBANs, card numbers, social-security-style numbers and any run of 7+ digits. Names are not detected automatically, so remove them in the text box if you prefer. You can turn redaction off.

Using it

What file types work?

PDF (including scanned PDFs, read with on-device OCR), Word .docx, plain text, and photos of paper contracts taken with your phone. Up to about 20 pages (60,000 characters) per report.

Can I use it for contracts in languages other than English?

Yes. It reads contracts in most major languages and can write the report in the contract's language or any language you choose, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. For photos, choose the OCR language that matches the document.

What kinds of contracts can it review?

Anything written as an agreement: leases, job offers and employment contracts, freelance and consulting agreements, car purchase papers, gym and subscription terms, NDAs, loan agreements, licensing and influencer deals, terms of service. If the text isn't a contract, the report will say so.

How long does it take?

The preview takes about 15 seconds. A full report usually takes 20–60 seconds depending on length. Photo OCR adds up to a minute on slower phones.

How accurate is it?

It reliably finds and explains clauses that are commonly unfavorable and quotes the exact wording so you can verify each one. Like any AI it can misread or miss things, and it doesn't know the specific law of every country or state. Treat the report as a well-prepared briefing, not a verdict.

Is this legal advice? Do I still need a lawyer?

It is not legal advice, and ContractScanner is not a law firm. The report tells you when a lawyer should look at the document — typically for large sums, employment disputes, anything you're being sued over, or terms you still don't understand after reading the report. Disclaimer.

Paying

How much does it cost?

The preview is free (3 per day, no sign-in). A full report is $4.99 per contract; choose how many you need at checkout. One-time payment in US dollars through PayPal, no subscription. Pricing.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Through PayPal: pay with your PayPal balance, or with any Visa, Mastercard or American Express as a guest without creating a PayPal account. PayPal's secure page handles the payment; we never see your card details. Prices are in USD; your bank converts at its rate.

Do I need an account?

Not for the preview. For full reports, you sign in with a one-time email link — no password to create or remember. Credits are tied to the email you paid with.

Can I get a refund?

No. All purchases are final, which is why the free preview exists: try it on your own contract first. If a report fails to generate your credit is not used, a broken report is re-run free, and a duplicate charge is reversed. Refund policy.

Do credits expire?

Credits are valid for 24 months from purchase.
